Discussion on the crisis of migrants seeking safe shelter and ways NP can help. Guest Speaker: Rev. Jamie Rieger
October 6, 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
In a informative zoom discussion, Rev. Jamie Rieger, minister of First Parish in Bedford will share the ways his church and his family have mobilized to help with the Massachusetts migrant crisis.

for help from faith-based organizations for immigrant families. Since Gov. Healy’s recent
change to the Emergency Assistance family shelter system limiting stays in shelters to 5

best to provide blankets and food, but this is a desperate situation. Faith-based
organizations are being asked to affirm, in our actions and our words, that what is good
for any of us in the Commonwealth is good for all of us. While some congregations have
found a way to provide short term housing within their buildings, and at least one has
provided tents in space outside, there are other ways congregations can step up to
provide assistance during this crisis.
